& Surgical Stations.

Master essential high-stakes clinical competencies under the direct mentorship of senior surgeons, intensivists, and cardiologists at Gandhi Medical College.

STATION A · CAPPED AT 30 DELEGATES

Emergency Ultrasound (POCUS) Lab

Hands-on bedside ultrasound training covering the Extended Focused Assessment with Sonography for Trauma (E-FAST), standard parasternal & apical echocardiography windows, thoracic lung slide verification, and real-time internal jugular / femoral vascular cannulation under sonographic guidance.

  • Venue: GMC Ultrasound Skills Lab
  • Schedule: Day 1 · 10:00 AM — 12:30 PM
  • Stations: Phantoms, live human standardized models & dual-probe machines
  • Instructor Lead: Dept. of Emergency Medicine & Radiodiagnosis Faculty
STATION B · CAPPED AT 25 DELEGATES

Difficult Airway & Video Laryngoscopy

Comprehensive algorithm for unanticipated difficult intubation. Practice on high-fidelity anatomical airway simulators: King Vision and C-MAC video laryngoscopy, fiberoptic bronchoscopic intubation, gum-elastic bougie technique, supraglottic rescue devices (i-gel), and scalpel-bougie-tube surgical cricothyroidotomy.

  • Venue: GMC Anesthesia Simulation Complex
  • Schedule: Day 1 · 02:00 PM — 04:30 PM
  • Stations: Video towers, flexible bronchoscopes & surgical mannequins
  • Instructor Lead: Department of Anesthesiology & Critical Care
STATION C · CAPPED AT 25 DELEGATES

Advanced Surgical Suturing & Anastomosis

Rigorous hands-on surgical knot tying and tissue reconstruction: horizontal/vertical mattress, continuous subcuticular cosmetically hidden closures, microvascular instrument tie maneuvers, tendon repair techniques, and end-to-end single-layer bowel anastomosis on biological tissue models.

  • Venue: Dept. of General Surgery Skills Laboratory
  • Schedule: Day 2 · 10:00 AM — 12:30 PM

  • Instructor Lead: Professors of General & Plastic Surgery
STATION D · CAPPED AT 40 DELEGATES

Clinical ECG & Complex Arrhythmia Lab

Dissection of intricate electrocardiographic tracings: identifying subtle STEMI equivalents (De Winter, Wellens, Sgarbossa criteria), differential diagnosis of wide complex tachycardia (Brugada vs Vereckei criteria), Brugada syndrome, long QT risk stratifications, and transcutaneous pacing simulator scenarios.

  • Venue: Cardiology Demonstration Hall

STATION E · CAPPED AT 50 DELEGATES

Translational Research & Paper Writing Sprint

Demystifying scientific publication from clinical question to PubMed indexing: framing the PICO question, sample size computation formulas in open-source R/EpiInfo, drafting institutional ethics committee (IEC) protocol dossiers, handling biostatistical tests (parametric vs non-parametric), and navigating journal peer review rebuttals.

  • Venue: GMC Medical Informatics Centre
  • Schedule: Day 3 · 10:00 AM — 12:30 PM
